Born in Colorado. Built for community. Open to everyone.
AfroHabesha Outdoors was founded by Haile and Yeti with a clear mission: expand access to outdoor spaces for the Ethiopian and African diaspora community in Colorado.
What began as the first-ever Ethiopian Ski Day at Breckenridge has blossomed into a thriving outdoor movement — now in our 3rd year — and growing every season with skiing, hiking, and camping events.
We believe that every Ethiopian and African diaspora member deserves to feel represented, welcomed, and celebrated in the outdoors. So we created spaces that feel like home — complete with community, culture, and Ethiopian food.
"The mountains have always called to us. We just needed to answer — together."
We are dedicated to expanding access, fostering belonging, and ensuring representation in nature — creating joyful outdoor experiences for the Ethiopian and African diaspora.
Removing barriers through mentorship, gear accessibility, and making outdoor adventure affordable and approachable for everyone.
Connecting Habesha and African diaspora members through shared outdoor experiences that build lasting friendships.
Inspiring the next generation of Ethiopian outdoor enthusiasts to discover passions that last a lifetime.
Redefining what outdoor adventure looks like — Black, Brown, and beautiful in every mountain landscape.
Passionate outdoorspeople and community builders who dreamed of creating a space where the Ethiopian diaspora could experience the joy of Colorado\'s mountains together.
We are grateful to the organizations and businesses that help make our events possible.
